

Since the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup (SWC) there has been two initiatives; Fly the flag and Lead SA, to try and keep the momentum and positivity of the SWC going. What a fantastic month it was for SA.
But we all know the SWC is over and it is back to work, but hopefully with a difference…
The difference being; we know as South Africans we can do amazing things! We now know we have the potential and ability to deliver. The trend for South Africa to date has been to link our world class performance to a significant milestone especially when the world is looking at us and many anticipating we will fail. We first did this in 1994, silencing many critics and most recently were again spectacularly successful in hosting the world’s greatest sport event.

The National Qualifications Framework (NQF) will be showcased at the SABC Careers Fair on 27-29 July at the Johannesburg Expo Centre (Nasrec). Those attending the Fair, including Grade 10 – 12 learners, will have an opportunity to learn about the NQF and how it can help them to make good choices regarding learning and career choices. Career guidance initiatives currently undertaken by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) will also be explained to learners, parents and educators. SAQA supports the idea that accurate and expert advice will ensure that learners will be sufficiently equipped to make informed decisions and assume greater responsibility for their career paths
