How experienced and qualified are Umalusi’ site evaluators?
About 90% of the site evaluators and monitors appointed and trained by Umalusi for site visits are heads of various schools in the country. The other 10% is made up of senior teachers. About 80% of the evaluators and monitors have been evaluating portfolios or conducting site visits for Umalusi since 2006. However, there will always be room for improvement in ensuring that evaluators and monitors are adequately qualified and sufficiently trained to conduct site visits and to evaluate portfolios of evidence.
