Do home schools have to be accredited by Umalusi?
No. The South African Schools Act, 1996, as amended; does not provide for home schools (as institutions) but for home scholars. It is therefore individual home scholars that are registered with the relevant provincial department and not home schools . Umalusi accredits schools as institutions of learning.
