Which areas should a higher education course cover?

Each higher education institution sets up its own particular courses so they are the best place to start to find out what your course is likely to cover.

The HEQC cannot dictate to institutions what to include and what to exclude in their programmes. The HEQC evaluates the quality of what the institution has already decided to include as part of its programme.

For some programmes, there are general guidelines as to what to include. For instance, a Diploma in Travel Tourism should teach students how to do bookings using systems such as Galileo so that they don’t struggle when they find employment.  MBAs are generally expected to have modules such as Finance, Strategic Management, HR Management, Organizational Behaviour, etc.
