Today I Will Make South Africa Great
Fri, 27 Aug 2010 11:15
Since the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup (SWC) there has been two initiatives; Fly the flag and Lead SA, to try and keep the momentum and positivity of the SWC going. What a fantastic month it was for SA.
But we all know the SWC is over and it is back to work, but hopefully with a difference…
The difference being; we know as South Africans we can do amazing things! We now know we have the potential and ability to deliver. The trend for South Africa to date has been to link our world class performance to a significant milestone especially when the world is looking at us and many anticipating we will fail. We first did this in 1994, silencing many critics and most recently were again spectacularly successful in hosting the world’s greatest sport event.
What we now need to do is to not wait for the next big thing but to recognise every day is a world cup day and so every day we need to perform at our best.
So let’s all start every day with a personal affirmation: “today i will make south africa great!” The possibilities that come alive when a nation believes in itself are amazing and unlimited.
To be part of this positivity movement you need to perform at your best. And like every sportsman/woman you need to ensure your specific skills in your chosen field are top class. You also need to keep sharpening those skills by making a personal and real commitment to lifelong learning.
