Hi NQF ambassadors, enthusiasts and clients

Wed, 25 Nov 2009 10:35

Thanks for registering on the NQF website (despite a few technical challenges which are now sorted) and welcome to the NQF community site.

This website is a vital part of the NQF Helpdesk project which aims to assist all South African learners to make wise qualification and provider choices.

The NQF Helpdesk project is part of the NQF Advocacy Initiative, a collaborative effort of the NQF partners, i.e. SAQA, the Council on Higher Education (CHE), Umalusi, the Quality Council on Trades and Occupations (QCTO) and the Department of Higher Education and Training.

The NQF Helpdesk opened for business on 2 November and the response is fantastic. However, what is really rewarding is when a person is provided with sound information that enables them to utilize the NQF as a framework that facilitates access, progression, articulation and recognition of prior learning.

The NQF Advocacy Initiative is about facilitating a spirit of communication, cooperation and collaboration, making the NQF a valued construct in the world of learning.

In this regard another project of the NQF Advocacy Initiative is the development of NQF Ambassadors. As of this communique 38 staff from the partnering organisations have attended ambassador workshops. The goal is to ensure every staff member is a NQF Ambassador.

If you have a good story to tell, please tell us. And remember, if you or someone you know has an NQF need, please email help@nqf.org.za or phone 0860 111 673(nqf).
